Privacy Policy for Webinars

1. Scope of Data Protection

This Privacy Policy informs users about the nature, scope, and purpose of the collection and use of personal data by the responsible provider, Alfons W. Gentner Verlag GmbH & Co. KG, Forststraße 131, 70193 Stuttgart, Germany (hereinafter referred to as the "Provider"), on this website (hereinafter referred to as the "Service").

This Privacy Policy applies to all events purchased via https://events.gentner.de.

The subject of data protection is personal data. According to Article 4 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), personal data means any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes, for example, information such as your name, postal address, email address, or telephone number, and may also include usage data such as your IP address.

If you commission us to provide a service or to send you information or goods, we collect, process, store, and share your personal data for the purpose of providing that service and sending the requested information. This processing is based on Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. For this purpose, it may be necessary to share your personal data with companies that we engage to provide the service or process the transaction.

2. Scope of Data Collection, Storage, and Sharing

In general, you can use our website without providing personal data. However, in order to provide our services, we require your personal data. This applies to conducting events, sending information, and responding to individual inquiries.

As part of our live streaming services, we use your personal data for the following purposes:

Information about the event

The personal data you provide during registration is used by Gentner Verlag for event administration, sending event-related information, and communicating directly with you. In addition, we may inform you about other comparable events offered by Gentner Verlag, even after the event you registered for has taken place.

Sharing of Data

To provide you with additional information, follow-up materials, or similar content after the event, your personal data will be shared with participating companies (sponsors).

Your data will be shared solely for the purpose of enabling the recipient to contact you once and provide you with further information. After this one-time contact, your data will not be used by the recipient for this purpose unless you expressly consent to further communication.

Your personal data is shared with these companies pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR in order to protect the legitimate interests of the participating companies. By registering for the event and thereby expressing your interest, there is no reason to assume that you have an overriding legitimate interest in preventing the disclosure of your data.

You may cancel your event registration or object to the sharing of your personal data up until the start of the event. To do so, please contact webinare [at] gentner.de (webinare[at]gentner[dot]de). Alternatively, you may send an email to datenschutz [at] gentner.de (datenschutz[at]gentner[dot]de)

Newsletter

If you have expressly consented pursuant to Article 6(1)(a) GDPR via a confirmation email (double opt-in), we will use your email address to send you our newsletter on a regular basis. For addressing you and sending the newsletter, we use the name and email address you provided during registration.

You may unsubscribe at any time, for example by using the unsubscribe link included at the end of every newsletter. Alternatively, you may send your unsubscribe request at any time by email to datenschutz [at] gentner.de (datenschutz[at]gentner[dot]de)

3. Right of Access and Withdrawal of Consent

You have the right to obtain information about the personal data we have stored about you at any time and free of charge, without having to provide a reason.

You may also request the correction, deletion, or restriction of your personal data at any time. Furthermore, you may withdraw your consent to the collection and use of your personal data at any time without giving reasons.

Please contact the address provided in our legal notice (Imprint) for this purpose. We are always available to answer any further questions regarding our Privacy Policy and the processing of your personal data.

Please note that data protection regulations and privacy practices, for example those of Google, are subject to ongoing changes. It is therefore advisable and necessary to stay informed about changes in legal requirements and corporate practices.

4. Deletion of Data

Stored personal data will be deleted if you withdraw your consent to its storage, if the data is no longer required for the purpose for which it was collected, or if storage is otherwise prohibited by law. Any statutory retention obligations applicable to the Provider remain unaffected.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files that make it possible to store specific information related to a user's device (such as a PC, smartphone, or similar device).

On the one hand, cookies improve the user-friendliness of websites for users, for example by storing login information. On the other hand, they are used to collect statistical data on website usage in order to analyze and improve our services.

Users can control the use of cookies. Most web browsers offer settings that allow you to restrict or completely prevent the storage of cookies. Please note, however, that the use of our website, and particularly its ease of use, may be limited if cookies are disabled.

You can manage many online advertising cookies through the U.S. website www.aboutads.info/choices or the European website www.youronlinechoices.com/uk/your-ad-choices.

6. Integration of Third-Party Services and Content

This online service may include third-party content, such as Google Maps, RSS feeds, or graphics from other websites.

This always requires that the providers of such content (hereinafter referred to as "Third-Party Providers") receive the user's IP address, since without the IP address they cannot deliver the content to the user's browser. The IP address is therefore required to display such content.

We make every effort to use only content whose respective providers use the IP address solely for delivering the content. However, we have no control over whether Third-Party Providers store IP addresses, for example for statistical purposes. Where we are aware of such practices, we will inform users accordingly.

7. Security Notice

Please note that complete data security cannot be guaranteed when communicating by email. Therefore, we recommend using postal mail when sending confidential information.
